Updated: Mar 15

We are thrilled to share the enriching experience of our recent visit to the African American Library at the Gregory School for the George Washington Carver exhibit and the Contemporary Arts Museum for the "This Way" exhibit. These exhibitions were not only engaging and educational but also deeply impactful, providing valuable insights into history and culture.

Unveiling History: George Washington Carver Exhibit

The George Washington Carver exhibit at the African American Library at the Gregory School was nothing short of mesmerizing. From Carver's groundbreaking discoveries in agriculture to his enduring legacy as a scientist and educator, the exhibit offered a captivating glimpse into the life and work of this remarkable figure. Its educational value was surpassed only by its ability to inspire and inform visitors of all ages.

Celebrating Community: "This Way" Exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Museum

At the Contemporary Arts Museum, the "This Way" exhibit paid tribute to Fourth Ward in Houston, TX, with a celebration of its rich cultural heritage and vibrant community spirit. Through thought-provoking artworks and interactive displays, visitors were immersed in the sights, sounds, and stories of this historic neighborhood. The exhibition served as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving and honoring our collective past.

A Window into History: Family-Friendly and Educational

Both exhibits were exceptionally kid and family-friendly, providing an inclusive environment where visitors of all ages could engage with history and culture. The exhibitions offered a wealth of information and interactive experiences, making learning both enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

An Opportunity Not to Be Missed

For those who missed the chance to visit the exhibits in February, there's still time to explore these captivating displays. The "This Way" exhibit runs until March 24, 2024, while the George Washington Carver exhibit continues until May 11, 2024. With the museums conveniently located just 10 minutes apart, visitors can easily enjoy both exhibitions in a single day – and at no cost to experience.
